The LMC addresses the chronic underinvestment, fragmentation, and often outdated business models that plague Latino-serving media. Latino audiences access news across diverse platforms and from various information stewards, yet many outlets lack the resources to meet them where they are, leaving critical stories underreported. LMC strengthens the ecosystem by distributing transformative grants to member publishers, offering tailored operational assessments in either English or Spanish, and then matching their needs with consulting and shared services. We're also creating innovative content distribution tools, such as the Latino Media Content Hub. These efforts expand reach, generate revenue, and improve efficiency across member outlets. By mapping roles, fostering collaboration, and aligning local and multi-local coverage, LMC ensures Latinos have access to news they trust.
The LMC ACB Program delivers a holistic model that pairs transformational grants with a bilingual assessment tool—helping publishers identify strengths and gaps—then matches them with vetted coaches and consultants to build capacity, ensuring funding and services work hand-in-hand for lasting impact.
