Break down barriers in news and the journalism industry for people with disabilities, chronic illnesses, those who are neurodivergent, who are deaf and hard of hearing, blind and low vision, military veterans, caregivers, who have low literacy, and others who are left out because of accessibility barriers.
1 in 4 adults is disabled but news is not accessible to many in the audience and newsrooms aren't accessible to disabled journalists. We aim to make news and the newsrooms producing it more accessible through training, products for journalists, and launching accessible newsrooms.
Equal Access Public Media offers a journalism-focused three-part accessibility training to journalism organizations and newsrooms that includes digital/website training, language and interviewing skills, and HR training.
