
APEVEX is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting the professional development of its members and upholding the principles of freedom of expression, media pluralism, and human rights.
About 80% of APEVEX's affiliates are not engaged in journalism-related work, only 20% is, including part-time journalism jobs or using their social networks to inform. This 80% is employed in a variety of other sectors. One of APEPVEX’s objectives since its foundation has been to organize trainings, webinars and conferences on the tools currently required by the journalism industry related to technology and digital media, to ensure that journalists, even if they work in sectors other than journalism, are updated and can apply this knowledge when they enter the media.
Apevex defends freedom of the press, information, and expression in light of the serious situation facing these freedoms both in Venezuela and in other countries.
